&lt;p&gt;Please mark your calendars for this year&amp;rsquo;s upcoming AIA Golf Tournament. It promises to be a great day of golfing, fun, and competition filled with countless marketing and networking opportunities.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This year&amp;rsquo;s event will be held at one of North Florida&amp;rsquo;s most elegant private courses, Deerwood Country Club, centrally located here in Jacksonville. This beautiful venue should offer a challenge to most golfers and a memorable day of golf!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As always all proceeds from the tournament will go to the Mellen C. Greeley Scholarship Fund which provides assistance to students attending the University of Florida and FAMU Schools of Architecture.&lt;/p&gt;

                <title>2010 Sandblast Competition</title>

&lt;p&gt;The Sandcastle Competition has been cancelled.&amp;nbsp; Look for it in 2011.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;INAUGURAL SANDBLAST COMPETITION RULES &lt;br /&gt;
2011&lt;br /&gt;
I. Site and Site Access&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 1. Each team receives a plot approximately 22&amp;rsquo; wide and 25&amp;rsquo; deep with a 3&amp;rsquo; shared walkway between the plots.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 2. A 5&amp;rsquo; walkway will be fenced on the public side, to protect the sand sculptures from spectators and to be utilized by the&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; judges.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 3. Should there be seaweed within the plot(s), each team is allowed to remove the seaweed provided no sand is moved within the&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; plot.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 4. Each team is responsible for obtaining and installing a shade canopy at their site, (if desired &amp;ndash; not mandatory).&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 5. All teams must register before access is permitted to the beach. Registration will take place from 6pm to 8pm at Amelia Hotel&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;amp; Suites on Friday, March19 and Saturday, March 20 from 6am to 7am at the Seaside Beach entrance.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 6. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the beach.&lt;br /&gt;
II. Sandblast Building Materials&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 1. Each team will be provided approximately 10 cubic yards of sand within their site.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; a. No additional sand will be provided&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; b. Each team may gather sand from behind or in front of its site as long as it does not occur within the 5&amp;rsquo; Official walkway&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; or impede traffic flow along the beach.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; c. Sand may not be gathered until official start time&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 2. Each team is permitted to use framework for the sand sculptures provided sound judgment is used and there is no danger to&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; participants or spectators. Framework may be placed within the plot before the start of the competition, provided that no&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; sand is moved with the plot for the setup.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 3. No formwork, rebar, adhesives, etc. are to be incorporated into the sculpture.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; a. Decorative materials are not allowed&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; b. Addition of any color is not allowed&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; c. Sculptures must be made of sand only&lt;br /&gt;
III. Sandcastle Building Equipment&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; a. No generators are allowed due to an on-going effort of being environmentally responsible. The concern is not only accidental spills along the edge of the beach and in the surf, but also the noise and potential burns.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; b. Each team must provide its own water-carrying tools: (examples: plastic trash cans, buckets).&lt;br /&gt;
IV. Team Identification Signage&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 1. Each team must provide one Team Identification Sign with mounting posts.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; a. Maximum permitted Team Identification Sign size is 24&amp;rdquo; x 36&amp;rdquo;.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; b. No additional signage is allowed&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; c. Signage must list Team name or name of company entering the competition. The theme of your sculpture must also be included.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; d. Team sponsors are allowed to be recognized on the Team Identification Sign or canopy or tent.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
V. Team Members and Behavior:&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 1. Team Captains are responsible for policing the behavior of the team members.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 2. Dangerous or reckless behavior will not be tolerated. Alcohol consumption on the beach is prohibited by law.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; a. Such behavior could result in the disqualification of your team and possible removal from the beach.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; b. Please remember this is a family event and you are representing your company and a professional organization.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 3. Any team with a member who threatens and/or uses abusive language or behavior toward an event official or another&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; participant, will be required to leave the beach and the team will be disqualified.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 4. Each team must respect the space of the sites around them.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; a. A team that damages a competitor&amp;rsquo;s site will be required to assist in the repair of the site.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; b. Points will be deduced in final scoring based on the infraction.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 5. Teams cannot combine sites.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 6. No obscene sculptures are allowed.&lt;br /&gt;
VI. Participant Bands:&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 1. Teams are not limited in size, but each participant in the site must wear a Participant Event Wristband.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; a. Each team receives 10 Participant Event Wristbands with advance registration; additional bands may be purchased in advance&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; with registration for $10.00 each or on-site at the Information Tent for $15.00 per person (cash only).&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; b. Participant Event Wristbands must be worn for participation within the sandcastle plot and for access to sponsor tents.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; c. Failure to wear Participant Event Wristbands while in the sandcastle plot will result in point deductions and/or&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; disqualification.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; d. Children under 12 years do not need a Participant Event Wristbands.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; e. No professional sand sculptors will be allowed to participate on the day of the event &amp;ndash; doing so will be grounds for&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; disqualification.&lt;br /&gt;
VII. Sculptures:&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; 1. Great expense is being made to protect the sandcastles for viewing, official photographs and related activities immediately&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; following the event and for viewing on Sunday.&lt;br /&gt;
DO NOT DESTROY YOUR SCULPTURE AFTER THE EVENT&lt;br /&gt;
VIII. Judging&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 1st Place Golden Bucket&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 2nd Place Silver Shovel&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;nbsp; 1. Each team is responsible for keeping the 5&amp;rsquo; walkway in front of their site clear of spectators and participants while judging&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; is occurring. Bribing officials with ice cold drinks is allowed!&lt;br /&gt;
X. Competition Schedule &amp;ndash; Saturday March 20&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Rules Review (Mandatory if not attended on Friday evening) 5:30am &amp;ndash; 6:30am&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Team Check-in at beach 6:00am &amp;ndash; 7:00am&lt;br /&gt;
